How MyDirector uses YouTube
MyDirector connects to your YouTube channel via the official YouTube Data API (Google). This page fully discloses every scope we request, exactly what data it returns, and precisely how we use it — so you can connect with confidence.
Scopes we request
We request only the scopes we need, and only at the time we need them. Each scope below links directly to its purpose within the app.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonlyView your YouTube account
We read your YouTube channel details, your existing videos, and their performance stats to populate your connected-account dashboard and analytics.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.uploadManage your YouTube videos
We upload and publish the videos you have approved inside MyDirector to your own YouTube channel. We never upload anything without your prior approval.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell, share, or rent your YouTube data to third parties.
- We do not use your YouTube data to train, develop, or improve generalized AI models.
- We only upload videos that you have explicitly approved in MyDirector.
- We do not access channels or videos that you do not own.
Consent & revocation
We only connect to your YouTube channel after you explicitly grant permission via Google's official OAuth consent screen. You can revoke access at any time:
- Inside MyDirector: Go to Settings → Connections, then click Disconnect YouTube.
- In your Google Account: Visit Third-party apps & services, find MyDirector AI, and remove its access.
After disconnection, all YouTube-derived data is deleted within 30 days.
